WoolSafe® Fabric Care Specialist On-line Training Course

Introduction

Welcome to the WoolSafe® Fabric Care Specialist On-line Training Course. The purpose of this course is to provide carpet cleaners with a convenient means for updating their knowledge on wool carpet cleaning and spotting, at the nominal cost of $199.95. This on-line course is intended to supplement training received in the IICRC-approved Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) and Upholstery Cleaning Technician (UFT) certification courses.

This on-line course is divided into a number of sections or modules. It is based on current information from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification’s IICRC S300 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Upholstery Cleaning and the IICRC S100 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Cleaning.

Each module is followed by a self-evaluation in the form of multiple-choice questions, which are based on the information presented in the current module. Simply read the question and select the correct answer from the options provided. There is only one correct answer to each question.

Students should read the information presented in each Module carefully. Then, they should answer the multiple-choice questions at the end of each Module to test information retention. The question will be graded electronically for immediate feedback.

If the student selects the right answer, the program will indicate that, and explain why it is the correct answer. If the student chooses the wrong answer, the program will specify that the answer is wrong and explain why the selection is incorrect. At that point, the student will have to wait two hours to attempt to answer the question again; however, he or she can continue through the program. Of course, the purpose for the wait is to prevent skipping over essential training information and simply answering questions. This defeats the purpose of the course. While a passing grade is 80% or higher, the objective is to achieve 100%, since there is no limit to the number of times an individual exam question can be attempted.

A question that students often ask, "Can I get a printed copy of the WoolSafe® course manual?" The answer is yes - you can obtain a copy of the complete 100+ page course manual with all illustrations and pictures (no video or exam questions, of course) for the modest price of $79.95 plus shipping and handling. Simply call (800) 455-4278 or (334) 983-8730 to purchase a copy.

Should questions arise, and upon completion of this training with a grade of 80%, please call our office for processing a Certificate of Completion and reporting your successful completion to the IICRC, as appropriate. Contact numbers are 800 455-4278 (U.S.); (334) 983-8730 (outside U.S.); e-mail ccs@sprynet.com.

WoolSafe®-Approved Fabric Care Specialist Program

The WoolSafe®-Approved Fabric Care Specialist program, begun in 1998, is a natural extension into the area of training and recognition of carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning professionals. Once a company has at least one cleaning technician who has met the qualification requirements as a WoolSafe®-Approved Fabric Care Specialist, the company is eligible to become a WoolSafe®-Approved Service Provider.

Eligibility:

WoolSafe®-Approved Service Provider program is open to the following:

• Independent carpet cleaning companies

• Carpet cleaning franchisees

• In-house carpet cleaning technicians

Approval Requirements:

To qualify for WoolSafe® Service Provider approval, companies must:

offer cleaning services on a full-time basis;

• have employees who have received appropriate technical and practical training in cleaning (e.g., IICRC CCT, CMT, UFT, RCT Certification);

be an IICRC-Certified Firm or meet equivalent qualification requirements (proper business licensing, liability insurance, consumer complaint follow-up policy, subscribe to a Code of Ethics);

• be members of a cleaning trade association, (franchises included), which is recognized by The WoolSafe® Organisation;

• encourage all employees to attend a WoolSafe® Training Course, taught by a WoolSafe®-Approved Trainer, either in person or on-line, and pass the course exam, and
